Worcester Senior Photographer • Natural, Relaxed Portraits | Tom Godfrey

After years of study, work, growth, and a few really weird years, the Class of 2026 is just about up to bat. Fall might be peak senior session time but I’m willing to bet that this is because that’s when people remember their deadlines. Summer offers just as much gratuitous scenery as the fall here in the Worcester area. Stopping time is impossible but your senior photos let you capture who you are at this moment. Years from now, whether you went to college, joined the workforce, enlisted in the military, or became immediately and independently wealthy- your senior photos will remind you of who you were. You should embrace that. I offer senior photography in the greater Worcester area, including senior portraits for Shrewsbury, Holden, West Boylston, Leicester, Grafton, and more.

Natural, Relaxed Senior Photography in Worcester and Worcester County

Senior sessions can be as collaborative as you want them to be but my approach is the same. I want you to be comfortable. If you are comfortable then your look is more natural. Before our session, I will listen to the things that are important to you and what you want to get out of your portrait session. Incorporating interests, activities, poses, styles, and locations that mean something to you mean something to me. I don’t expect you to remember who took your senior portraits years down the line but I expect you to love your senior photos because you played a role in creating them. My posing is light: I do not micromanage fingers but guide you to the intersection of comfort and style. I keep things light during our sessions and since most take place in parks, you can think about it as a walk in the park with photo spots mixed in.

Why choose me?

There are dozens of senior session photographers in Worcester and the general Worcester County area. I am not even the only photographer on my street. They all produce mostly great images with their own approach. What you are deciding on, then, is what approach works for you. You should consider me if any of these things appeal to you.

  • Laid back photography sessions. If you aren’t super comfortable in front of the camera and don’t want to go through dozens of poses in one pretty spot then my walk-in-the-park approach might be for you (or your son who doesn’t want to do this to begin with). This is not candid photography - but it’s real close.

  • Personalized experience. These sessions are as involved as you want them to be. If you want to really come away with photos that you want to show off with that show a little bit about who you or your senior is now then we can really sit down and talk about the different aspects of the session and how we can mold them around your personality. Every year I get a few seniors who really enjoy this sort of thing and in those cases this is a real collaboration that we can both be proud of. If you want to book, pick a spot, take some pretty pictures and get on with your life that is fine too!

  • Simple experience. Booking is simple, planning is simple, the session is laid back (see above), and image delivery is simple. I keep communication lines open for any of your questions or needs but the process is as simple as it gets. If you want to get this started now just email me at tomgodfreyphoto@gmail.com, fill out the form below, or click here to go to my contact form.

Popular senior portrait spots in Worcester and Worcester County

  • Elm Park — Having the Elm Park bridges in the background is a quintessential Worcester photo.

  • Green Hill Park — Wide open with a lot of different landscape backgrounds.

  • Bancroft Tower area — Great for a quick session with a castle.

  • Downtown Worcester / City Hall — Awesome if you are looking to add a bit of urban style to your senior session.

  • The Old Stone Church, Boylston MA — Everybody knows this place. Can you really call yourself a photographer if you aren’t here for a session once or twice a month?

  • Moore State Park, Paxton MA — In my opinion this is the single best location for rustic New England vibes. Only available during weekdays, unfortunately.

  • Dean Park, Shrewsbury MA — If you grew up in Shrewsbury then this place probably has some meaning to you.

  • Prospect Park, Shrewsbury MA — Very cool mix of forest and garden ruins. If you are into non-horror movie abandoned places then this is the spot for you.
